Howard, if ghosts do enter a house, I suppose they should realise that the house occupant wants their peace and quiet, and privacy!
I have seen ghosts several times, and I attended the Spiritualist church for some time. However, depending on the mediums it can be a bit offputting (i.e. to be honest some of them made me laugh and not in a good way). My advice to you would be to talk to the spirits. Just tell them "thank you for coming. I am aware of you, but now it's time to leave."
It may be that actually you are facing a time of difficulty or choice and they are there to support you. Not every manifestation is ghostly, some, like the orange lights, can have quite normal explanations. And don't exclude technical glitches in the case of the children's toys.
Although I do not practice I have been psychic all my life and would be up for a chat if you would like.

Good advice Diana, I agree with what you say about some mediums being a bit off putting. I don't do the waving of arms or talking in strange voices as it can scare people more than what they are experiencing from spirits!

I keep my investigations down to earth (excuse the pun) and do them in a much more relaxed manner.

In my post #24 I mentioned about thinking of friends or famous folk and then hearing from them out of the blue...well yesterday whilst in St Helier I said to the wife that I hadn't heard from x for a while an old friend of over 30 years. He normally visited Dover once a year and we went for a pint or meal etc.In fact 3 Christmas's ago he stayed with us for the festive period. He is my eldest sons Godfather.I said to the wife that rather than ring him I'd write to him enclosing photos of Jersey and Natascha and giving him the local gossip.
Late last night my phone went and it was the Police informing me that my friend had been found dead at home. They couldn't find any next of kin but my name was by his bedside in an old book.I am still getting over the shock of his sudden untimely death and have shed a bucket full of tears.I just hope that my thinking of him was his energy coming to me in some way.

Oh Marek, I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your dear friend. I believe they often try to let us know like that. Ironically I was talking about an old work colleague the other day that I hadn't seen for some years (he was a good friend of my ex-husband.) Today I received the sad news that he had died last week.
Not wishing to detract from the sadness of Marek and Jeane, but, reading the previous postings in this thread I feel we might need something to keep our spirits up!
Thank you Diana i would be very grateful for a chat. Marek im so sorry to hear of your loss xxx

Very sad for both of you - it makes you wonder what's important in life doesn't it ? But then no one knows what's round the corner; scare the pants of most of us I'm sure.
We need to value more, those we care about and less about those who drag us down.

Mark, I too like to use various equipment on investigations as I always look for a rational explanation first and then if not, well maybe I have something. Fluctuations of energy or temperature can be caused by all sorts of things like electrical appliances or cables so I always like to rule those out first and well........I like gadgets!

I used to watch Most Haunted when it first started, it was good. I was involved with the follow up investigation of St Pancras Chambers (the former hotel above St Pancras station in London) and I also did Colin Fry's Sixth Sense. Now I feel that on many of these type of shows there is too much fake screaming (not naming names) and too much arm waving and talking in silly voices. I'm not knocking those who take on the voice of a spirit, but repeated wailing just makes me want to slap them! There are also some programmes which are so obviously set up and faked (which has since been proved) so to be honest I only watch them now if I want a laugh as I view them as a comedy.

Colin Fry is a lovely guy, definitely one of the better psychic/mediums.

sid
when i lived in ilford there was a clairvoyant that had one of those buzz entry systems.
i could never resist pressing the button and hearing the reply "who is it please".
my reply was always "if you need to ask me that etc etc".
reminded me of the knock down ginger game.
Knock down ginger? Great fun particularly when it was possible to tie, with thin cotton, two adjoining front doors togther. One tug often brought two people out. What a larf!
