It's quite tragic really when you see players in the premier being paid £100,000 a week and some leagues further down , whilst money is reduced in the FA cup earlier rounds to give more to premier clubs ...
If anything more should go to non league clubs and a little to premier clubs ..
But of course it's big business now , and already the premier League and FA are terrified that the top 6 or 8 premier clubs may break away stopping the FAs little party.
Clubs like Dover (there will be more ) struggle just to survive , and whilst the National league may have thought they needed to satisfy the ex football league clubs in the league , they should have looked at the bigger picture, and there own rules which stated they wouldn't allow clubs to continue if they run out of money .
.
The chairman made the right decision in pulling the club and now has to look at attempting to fight the unjustified fine and as important 12 point deduction .
I understand a barrister is giving up his time to take on the appeal for Dover
And the supporters are trying to raise the £40,000
Because they want the club to survive .
If course there will always be a club it's at what level it continues .
Of course it's great to be in the national League up against far bigger clubs , but there may come a time where they need to cut losses and survive at a lower level and one it may be easier to finance
That's one for the future though .

Ricky Miller has re-joined Dover today, along with another experienced forward Ben Williamson.
Looks like Parmenter has found some money down the back of the sofa!

Reda Johnson looks like a good signing too.

Although Ricky is a maverick and certainly dips in and out
This should be a good signing

Predictably Dover's 1st league next Saturday has been postponed because of covid in the camp

Such a shame when supporters had actually rallied to try to get a big crowd there
There are questions being asked about the recent kick a bout between the ex players and supporters and no tests etc some it could easily have been passed around thus two carried the covid now there all isolating

The squad has been upgraded from a Ryman to a NL South one, but there is no way the club will survive relegation.
Can't see where the 12 points to get back to zero is going to come from tbh.

Having watched both games home and away playing against very avarage sides , Dover yesterday just ran out of ideas going back to pumping high balls up front to very unfit looking miller .
It's only hopeful that once they get a first goal that the team starts to come together , it is early days , but they need to start picking points. Up .
But they need to look like they might score .
At the mo the pressure is on the players to score/win
And the national League will never be forgiven for putting the club this , with very dubious findings in the last season.
But we are where we are and having held onto national League status needs to decide if that status is for this club .
It's going to be a long season
Next up Altrincham away

Just linking into the other post, should it be called River Athletic?
It's a genuine question.

The ground straddles the boundary of St Radigunds and River, but both are in the Dover district.

You are correct Reginald .I lived in those flats for twelve years in River which are located in front of the grounds..Theboundary is unclear. However the The Athletic Ground !is St Radigunds Behind the football ground River.
Oh dear .!I enjoyed watching the game between Dover Athletic and The Dons at Milton Keynes.Ialso enjoyed watching a game at Dover Athletic .Im more of a Rugby fan .

I have seen Dover this season once with Watford and last Saturday. I think they doing the best they can at this time but the find and the lost of 12 points by the league was wrong now they find it very hard to get anywhere lets hope for a good run in the FA cup.
