On the plus side Crabble is one of the few places where you still can shout 'Come on you whites' without some idiot insisting you apologise for years of colonial repression and delete your social media account.

Great turn around from DAFC. The Chairman, Jim Parmenter, deserves huge praise for his positive intervention with the appointment of Andy Hessenthaler and the move to full time. It used to be said that you had to be full time to get promoted from the National league; it now looks like you need to be full time to stay in it. Hopefully with time to refresh and plan ahead, things will get better still next season.

Hi
For those of us that stick with Dover whether they win, lose or draw
Yesterday's result was a great one
Standards in the national league are so much higher
Yes full time must have helped
And of course hessy did make a difference
Now its about building for next season

Very vocal support for Aldershot from their fans and they were not very complimentary about our lovely town.

#46, Judith, the ones who came into our pub were all regulars who came to Dover for the good beer despite their disgust with their team who are being relegated. And we know Aldershot quite well and it ain’t no great shakes either. In fact if it were not for the many highly dignified and community-minded Gurkha families it would be a dreadful place.

I knew Aldershot many years ago, it was then a dormitory town for people who worked in London but couldn't afford anywhere nice within commuting distance.

From the BBC:
Dover Athletic have signed Turkish goalkeeper Yusuf Mersin, 24, on a two-year deal.
Mersin made 19 appearances in three years for Crawley before being released by the League Two club earlier this month.

In a move that will mean absolutely nothing to any St Margaret's-based MPs busily checking which prospective leader of the Conservative Party the wind is blowing towards, Dover have shot up one place to 13th following Gateshead's 9-point deduction for various administrative offences. This move has had a momentous consequence for the Whites, who now finish the season top of the bottom half of the table.
I understand that the National League offered the 9 spare points to the European Broadcasting Union in a generous attempt to increase Michael Rice's Eurovision score. The EBU, however, politely declined, saying that 'Eurovision is Bigger Than U and the points should be used to buy hay for the starving donkey who composed the UK's entry.'
