The following is from Facebook from someone whose family live in one of the damaged houses, very sad if true.
..." Sadly it sounds like it is true. The man with serious burns is the man that was in the house where the fire started as he tried to end his life, the person with smoke inhalation was living next door & part of the house collapsed on one of the firemen."...

Please forgive me, but I bring this back to the top in case there were any photographs of the fire-damage post-storm, and indeed any further news of the human cost of both.

Tom, there are plenty on the site below, they are now a long way down the page because of the newer storm and history pictures.

Thank you Jan, but it will take much more than gale-force winds to drive me into the arms of Facebook. Sometimes these links work, sometimes not, for we non-members.

Fire investigators and police forensics were on scene this morning. No sign of any debris from the wind, but the houses effected are obviously a real mess. One man arrested on suspicion of arson.

I have copied the following from Facebook as the facts are important to the family involved.

Need to set things straight! As the DOVER EXPRESS made a massive mistake! It was no resident of 83 barton road! He was not living there, he was staying for one night with my dad not a resident at all!! He was my dad's friend who was depressed so my dad gave him the sofa to sleep on for one night and this was what he got for his kindness! Please share and get the truth out there thankyou
