Good to see the telly marketing Dock Rock, the Regatta (and details of connecting bus services from Dover Priory) and a museum event or two this afternoon. This is exactly the sort of information it should be transmitting. Keep it up chaps!

Good to hear, this is where it will make a big difference!
With reference to 'would it work here?' Gary, you do highlight a very significant point. In central Birmingham such a gesture is charming, in Dover it should be ironic. However the idea of such and installation would go beyond irony and make us look at how detached from the sea we are!

But who will be open to supply a drink and/or food ? just the Ellie !
Hopefully the orange barriers will be taken down by then (the person at KCC who can sign this off, is on holiday at the moment - hope nothing serious happens to them, or it'll be there forever.
The lovely Squares in Palma and other major Cities across Europe, have such a great atmosphere with different cafe's serving the people in them; could it happen here ?
This would really open up the Market Square, but the businesses would need to know they wouldn't be screwed by Kent Highways and the rates people.

Absolutely - a bit of decent marketing and a few local incentives and the place could really be buzzing.
