Would It be possible to advertise local events via the medium of the Orwellian screen In the Market Sq.One of the biggest grumbles I hear from the Dover collective Is that there Is no central point of Information for local events. If not able to use the Orwellian screen could the space underneath be used to accomadate some form of Information hoarding.

that is the plan with the screen, local events will take precedence, not sure about a hoarding underneath though.
Just change the channel with the giant remote. Wait... has the giant remote gone missing already?

I await with baited breath are the Bleriot activities going up on the big screen .That is what was promised .
There are a lot of carrots offered to councils are we a lot of donkeys ?I think its time for the big stick to come out of hiding and used .Dover should have had a good spring clean this weekend .Individuals could have grown flowers for the planters and small action teams cleaned shop fronts .Just a bit of war time spirit and elbow grease
Shops encouraged to put up displays .I have the ideas and it does not involve paper work and endless meetings ..

Im afraid your breath might be well and truly baited as I cant see how they would do any coverage of Bleriot or anything else, not without staggering cost. Unless of course the BBC cover it. All it shows at the moment to the nonplussed citizens of market sq is BBC TV... and we all have that at home!

There were people around it this morning so perhaps they are tidying it up for the event ?
Been nice knowing you :)

it clearly states on the screen that it is all still on test.
maybe they have more underground works to complete?

At least the aluminium fencing has been taken down now, after much email writing. There is a smaller area cordoned off with orange barriers - looked like the Ellie had been tangoed, but it is a lot better and safer than before. Apparantly the ground around the TV had sunk a bit - it would make a giant hammer if it fell on its side wouldn't it ?

The screen is one aspect of the Market Square but a more co-ordinated approach would help make the whole place a very different experience. How about this as a way of attracting people?
