most of us would give our right arm for a job like that, i doubt that many across europe know about the working hours.

If the Greeks inside Troy had been receiving a salary and paid expenses from the Trojans while sitting inside the horse, they'd have prolonged the Trojan War by another ten years.
Perhaps the EU commissars are laughing up their sleeve behind Nigel Farage, happily paying up a wage and all expenses. hee hee

I would prefer Nigel Farage [who I also like & find entertaining] to do his job in Europe .
I would also like him to ensure the South East gets its share of the EU budget for growth & regeneration.
As we pay in I would expect he fights for our share & comes & represents the Maritime issues, the transport issues & how the EU bureaucracy thwarts grant aid for SME's, the sector you're in.
As Vic could not get him down to Dover as a former PPC [see previous postings] I wonder whether Mr Farage as our MEP for the South East is doing his job in the South East [his constituency] or in his attendances in EU Parliament or committees?
Is that a fair question to ask David?

Very fair question Paul.
To be honest I've always struggled with the concept of a UKIP person being an MEP.
My issue is it seems clear that tories are wary of Farage and the threat he poses, yesterday you seemed more concerned with where he was speaking rather than what he was saying. Its all very superficial.

Sorry David if the way I posted my comments were taken that way. My main point was very simple the man's elected and paid to represent the South East [ you & I ] why is he consistently in London, not Brussels etc where MEP's job is based.
We appear as one.
As I posted, I quite like him, find him entertaining. He's a one off & that's the problem with UKIP, nothing else & totally unco-ordinated but as an MEP he is under representing the interests of his EU constituency.
As an aside, the Old Conservative Central Office in Smith Sq. is now the EU Headquarters in UK with the EU Flag replacing the old Conservative Torch. Maggie T. must be absolutely fuming.

Paul, to put the picture over plainly, Nigel Farage is trying to get an MP seat in London, which is why he campaigns in England. So long as Britain is in the EU, UKIP will try to increase their support.
If Britain left the EU today, that would come to an end.

I must just point out the Day Mr Farage was booked to come to Dover, the weather was so bad he could not get here. And time moves on and I have been trying to get him down again. He told me he would come at some point ,it is up to the new chairman of UKIP in Dover to carry on where I left off.I did tell head office that I would like to see him standing for Dover at the next Gen Election,he would do alot better and might even make it ,by standing in the South East,he has alot of support around this part of the UK we will have to wait and see what he does.

So does this mean that UKIP support is centred around the sole person of Nigel Farage?
Is it a one-man party, per chance?
