- 11 May 2010 15:3851298Am delighted to be able to report that our seafront monster crane was moved away today on its dedicated low loader, so phase one of the seafront repairs are clearly making progress. However its departure is of course tinged with much sadness as while here it gave many of us a terrific lift..what with providing all those daily photo opportunities that were sooo uplifting to some. It made you feel like you could rise above things, some even got the opportunity to float skyward, look down on their fellow man with a benign and godlike understanding..

He was much higher than shown and as i grappled for the camera they were lowering him piece by piece so was disappointing he was close-ish to ground level by the time I got the pic. Yes Ive seen him, he is definitely down there, he comes to the surface late at night when most are sleeping, but Ive seen him because I often pace the midnight boards, so watch out when yer swimming this summer. He loves to suck yer fleshy bits..he's not terribly interested in skinny ones, but if yer ample watch out!
Crikey! theres a new crane this morning, Of a smaller variety.
