Yes she is very good looking still, even at her age better then myself, I have been on her in her highday, part of my life story was about the time I stoped her geting into the port, when in a flog I run my lorry on to the raiwayline by the ships that used that side of the port in the days of steam. The hold up was for two hours because they had to get a railcraine to come lift my lorry off not one of my better days but did keep my job it was the first one after my time in the army.

Im going on a steam train from Rochester to Ely as a birthday treat from my elder son.We will have breakfast on the outward journey and a four course meal on the way home.We are catching a local train up to Kings Lynn to see where my late husband worked. He in was in charge of all the stations from Ely to Kings Lynn.
There is a flower festival on at Ely Cathedral i which I hope to visit.

Lots of great photos and thanks for posting them.
Hopefully in a couple of years time you will all be able to travel by steam from East Kent Railway.
Even better, if we are successful with our project you will be able to travel around our restored mining railway sites.

#34, when I was a small boy we lived in a village called Watlington near King's Lynn. Once a week my mother used to take me to King's Lynn on market day by train. Once we were allowed to ride on the footplate of the engine. Our local station was at that time called Wiggenhall Saint Mary Magdalene and Watlington Halt. The village used to claim it was the longest station name in England.
Those were the days. Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.
