Yes good news at last .The long awaited bus shelter has been placed opposite the Bus Terminus in Lewisham Road River .It only has a perch bar nyt a full size seat .I can rest on these for a short time .
Lots of happy people .Im very trying but at last i tried and result .
Yes I do Colin .My husband used to buy me chocolates .I recall for some years there were a lot of new brands .Im sure later today I shall rec all some pof those long forgotten names .
Colin are you a Railway Man??
Colin thought of one Contrast .I believe one section was milk and the other dark chocolate .The centres were soft and had sharp flavours such as Lime ,Lemon ,Strawberry ,No toffee or nut fillings .
#4. Yes I am Sue. #5. Yes I remember Contrast Sue, as well as Weekend, Dairy Box, Black Magic. Not sure if any of these are still about though, or if and when they disappeared. Anyway, glad you`re pleased with your bus shelter Sue, and it`s nice to have some good news on here edible or not.
Colin my late husband was a GWR man .Former Station Master at Iver in Buckinghamshire .Duty Officer for Seaspeed where he oversaw Nigel??
He then moved to Kings Lynn where he was Area Manager .Responsible for stations down to Ely .He died in service at the early age of 47 .
WE used to try all those chocolates you have mentioned .I was very spoilt .Still the cat buys them for me now .
Oh Howard get yourself a councillor who never gives up .Trying all the time .Sometimes I get things done as I wear them down .Well thats my view .Seriously though I always have respect and a thank you and please goes a long way .Sadly some people are not like that .
Very sorry Sue, I just scrolled down and missed this one during the day. AH, the GWR will live forever, along with the Great Eastern at Kings Lynn. I`ve worked up that area in Norfolk with freight trains, quite a change of scenery to down here. So sorry to hear your husband dying so very young, 47 is no age at all.
As far as I'm aware I've never been asked for a bus-shelter in the Maxton, Elmsvale or Priory areas.
There are two that I know of (there may be more) - near the entrance to Elmsvale rec. and along Folkestone Road. I had them both cleaned up a while ago - new glass (plastic) at the Elmsvale rec. area and painted at the F/Sone Road one.
the main one as i see it is the one in market square, where the cruise passengers get their bus back to the ship as well as local bus passengers.
the other ones that spring to mind are at the juction of underdown road, outside the old orange tree, outside the old hare and hounds and opposite little farthingloe farm.
if i knew which stops were the responsibility of stagecoach, i would willingly chase them up on it.
Colin, I had a box of Black Magic at Christmas and I know that PaulB had a box of Dairy Box so they are still going strong and absolutely yummy they were too!
Sue, I must have a word with our cat Oliver and try to get him to buy me choccies Pleased to hear you got your bus shelter
