Thanks Gary, sounds a really exciting future for the area - £40 million is a good inward investment.
Seems odd that when I put this up included in my thread about regeneration for the District, it attracted so much negativity and verbal abuse.
I was advised to look on the Dover Locals forum where many ex and current DF posters (under pseudonyms) were making personal derogatory comments, that were so bad, they weren't worth responding to.
I'm sure this Hadlow project will be a fantastic injection for East Kent and the Deal area in particular.

Thanks Roger.
I don't think they were being negative about the actual project itself, they do what they normally do and use a thread, even one as positive and life changing as this one, to bleat on about their personal political addictions.
If they took time to put aside their beating sticks for a moment and see what Hadlow was bringing to the table and how it can be good and positive for everyone in our surrounding communities, that might like what the see.

I appear to be one of the DF posters, posting under a 'pseudonym', barrie013, not really hiding much there, about as much as 'GaryC' I would say, and I said how good it was that there was something positive happening in and for the area. Can't see any bleating from me about my personal political addictions, (I haven't actually got any addictions since I gave up smoking) nor have I made any personal derogatory comments. I did mention that these regenerations would have gone forward without a jolly for the boys (and boyesses), and that the people who made it happen didn't seem to get too much of a mention. I also said that I thought 'aspirational' housing was not really what the area needs, and then repeated my jocular (?) comments that I made on this forum, that failed to get a comment from Mr. Walkden at the time. I also don't remember getting a huge amount of support when personal derogatory comments were made about me on this forum, not that I want or need any as I am old enough and ugly enough to stand up for myself.
When it comes to light that members of Dover Locals read this forum, they/we get a post saying that we have no ideas of our own, and have to use the threads on this forum to brighten our sad little lives and give us topics for discussion. Does this work in reverse, as there seem to be quite a few members of this forum who like to comment on the subjects under discussion on Dover Locals, or does it just apply in one direction ?

Barrie.
I have not been on Dover Locals so nothing personal or derogatory from me.
Except to say that your post has nothing to do with the Hadlow Project( see the title of this thread) so if you want to bleat on about the two forums might I suggest you start your own thread about it.

I don't bleat about anything, and if you care to recheck posts #81 and 82 you could probably give your advice to both Mr. Walkden and yourself.
I'm more than a bit surprised by your comments, because I had you, along with Howard and a couple of others, down as one of the good guys on this forum, not a one liner/ cut and paster/ score a political point at any opportunity type, and it seems like the point I was trying to make was missed completely.

I'm sorry Barrie if I missed your point; I wasn't thinking or talking about you at all, but those who made personal derogatory comments.
There were many really negative comments when all I wanted to do was let people know there are good regeneration projects coming on stream in the District. Certainly not trying to make any political points.

seems to be some confusion here, barry posts on both forums and though sometimes criticises is never abusive unlike the ones that lurk in the shadows posting thoroughly nasty stuff in the knowledge that they cannot be traced.

Thanks Howard - I used to post on there occasionally, but it was like being "trollied" after every posting (it wasn't called trollied" then of course.

Barrie N.
Yes I am confused and I must have missed your point.
Just a bit peed off how this thread is being used and why some can't see how good this project will be for this area.
Please accept my apologies.

Apology from me too Gary, I was just pointing out that my name, Barrie013 on locals, is no more or less of a pseudonym than GaryC is on here, and it wasn't meant in a critical way at all. I find it difficult to make my point clearly sometimes because my brain thinks so much faster than my fingers can type.

Go on Howard get brave and bite the bullet and use a smiley, although I usually know when you are joking.
I should add they have got me out of potential trouble several times.

Thank you Howard.
Yes this is great news and more good news will follow very soon I hope.
I don't want to pre-empt any decision but we are all hoping work can actually start very soon.

All set to open next year, note that the survey closing date is fairly close.

Couldn't agree more with your sentiment, Gary. Working together and a positive attitude can achieve a lot.
