Yes, very pleased that work has started and excited to follow its progress.

This time next year we will have a new Visitor Centre at Betteshanger Country Park, with a Kent Mining Museum, following soon after.

All a long time coming but all worth waiting for.

I called in to have a look at it last week. Impressed with the size. Reminded me of Pink Floyd Live in Pompei!

Would be ideal venue for concerts. Few neighbours. Car parking. Must check that they are cabling in power supply.

Perhaps the Bishop could use it for one of his revivalist meetings like John Wesley used Gwennap Pit (review here http://www.shipoffools.com/mystery/2010/1865.html) which I visited last year?

One bus an hour Canterbury to Walmer stops "close by". I realise they are trying to promote cycling but wouldn't do so on the A258.
