talk of annihilation of the reds has been a common theme for many years.
tebbitt rejoiced over it, then 2 elections later he was forced to eat his words.
i don't know how long they have been going, must be donkeys years, the blues, reds and yellows will always be with us.
i suspect that ukip are not finished either, bailouts of other countries by the taxpayers of this country and germany will keep them in business.
there will always be a far right party that garners 2000 votes in constituencies with high deprivation.
even leafy dover served up a thousand votes.

Then you're not going to be happy with anyone then Brian are you ?
You didn't mention tax to pay for those, apart from increasing petrol.
Barmy list.

I have made up my mind on one thing, and that is I am going to stand again,I think it will not be to far away about 1year or even less.
I will be having ameeting with my UKIP colleagues later in the week. But as we all can see now that UKIP is the 4th Party in the UK and the polls did show that,so UKIP can build on that,I think the BNP took alot of votes away from us,we did not make any headway into the 3big partys. But if we had the BNP vote added on to ours in some place,s we would have got in 3rd place.

I think Brian was 'pulling some plonkers' Roger - you would have to be completely insane to think that list was at all sensible.

SUE
your posting indicates you don't usually work with others?
At the end of the day this is about EVERYONE(not just sue)
working together.
There will be diffrences of opinion on how this can be done, and what's best for Dover, but we should never lose sight of Dover District is the one that needs to benefit from decisions, who ever makes them.
Keith, did you miss this?

SID
It's fair to say I'v told Sue to her face and on here, there are many on here and in District who work hard for Dover.
I could easily come on here and keep on about myself/boy going to university
or how hard i work
but i rercognise, its realy of no interest to anyone else.
I hope cllrs/individuals/.officers/volunteers, have always worked together, may be diffrences how to achieve the aim, but where agreeements can be reached they should be.
ALL YEAR ROUND iv worked with other parties(even during elections!!)
Sorry im rambling
said enough, hope you understand my point

Sue Nicholas, I wouldn't be to sure that the election season is over, silly or not as it may be, but that it might soon be starting all over again! No-one has won these elections, Sue, i suggest you listen in to BBC4!

Actually Alexander, though he did not get a majority of seats Cameron still won, 100 seat gains plus a share of the vote higher than Blair got in 2005 when he achieved a majority of 65 (incidentally the Con vote was 32%,3% higher than Labour's share now....demonstrating how biased the system is against Conservatives)
You are right though that another election is likely within a year.

Brian - my facts are right and so are yours...
Conservative gains were 100 seats total - net gains after 3 losses to LibDems were 97.

Barry you are right the Conservatives did win this election, but rightly or wrongly they did not win by enough which is why they should get first bite of the cherry with the Lib dems. However you said demonstrating how biased the system is against Conservatives. I thought it was the Lib Dems said things like that, are you saying the Conservatives should agree with PR.
While I am on it, I know PR means voting for more than one person in some sort of order, but can someone explain.
a: Just how it works.
b: Will it take a lot longer to Count.
c. Why are the Conservatives so set against it and the Lib Dems so for it.
Also how do we get over the problem of people not getting a vote with the Polls closing at 10pm. Longer voting time or more Poll Stations in some areas.
