I FULLY understand the reasons for the Town cllrs decision, I was just correcting Paulb posting that the Town council didn't have an allowance.
It is a difficult area when you are using public money forwhatever council, no one should lose out finacially, its a hard area

I am not overly concerned about Councillors being paid or their reasonable expenses being met from the public purse in order that they may perform their duties well.What really gets my goat is when upon meeting a councillor 'they' pontificate and patronise me about how much they are out of pocket by continuing as a councillor and how 'they' are only doing it out of the goodness of their heart and for my benefit and that of the public good.
