I have to say I find offensive barryw post 17 stating the left are useless as ever
Although I disagree on lots of what Barryw may say, I accept he has right to say them.
I feel its sad when posts cum down to this gutter stuff does little to re engage people into politics

10:0735489Keith - instead of whinging about being offended by my comments on how inept and useless the left most certainly are, try putting forward a cohesive defence of your case then we might get a good debate.
Thankfully though Ed and Andy are at least putting a good case forward (not necessaryily with the 'left' label) saving this thread from pointlessness, enabling a good discussion between us. You would do well to learn from them.

14:4935507Barry why not follow your own advice/request and stick to the arguments for selling the port rather than the loaded vitriol about your perception that the government is inept. We know, to the point of boredom, your views on the government, the labour party, the trade unions etc.
When discussing the sale of the port why not stick to how we would benefit from a sale now, rather than how we might have benefited from a sale years ago.

18:0635539i tend to agree vic, but ross has asked a very pertinent question in post 44, it would be good if we had someone in the know on the matter that could answer it.
for the most part the future of the port and its staff are being used as political footballs.
i shudder to think how this will be used come march/april/may.

18:0835541Perhaps some kind person proposing the flogging off - sorry, sale - of the port could actually outline, in bullet points, what they see as the pros and cons? Clearly, without political colour and one point at a time?
