In November 2022 the old Port services site on South Military Road heading to the Western Heights has a change use to a 24/7 Lorry park. No one was consulted and I do not think DCC and KCC knew about it.
I E-mailed our MP and local councillors on 19th November 2022 about several concerns asking was permission given for change of use and I also said the road was unsuitable for HGV 24 Hours a day.
Another of my concerns was the signage was unsuitable and l predicted lorries would get lost and come on the estate. Yep I was right, we are now getting lorries onto the estate. last night one hit a residents car and drove off...
One day Someone will listen to Aycliffe residents... here is a photo of the damage

More lorries coming on the estate.
And a sign saying the road coming of the Western Heights Roundabout saying “Unsuitable for HGV’s “has been removed
We at Aycliffe are getting really annoyed and that is me being polite

No one has from DDC has contacted me. We are still getting lorries on the estate and they are being directed of by residents
I regularly drive on the road and seeing a HGV come around one of those tight corners is not nice and they are also across the white lines forcing to the edge of the road.
Not the lorry drivers fault just the people who allowed this Lorry park.

My latest e-mail to our MP and DDC councillors…..
Any news on the lorry park at South Military Road
Every week now we are having lorries come on the estate getting lost trying to find the lorry park. Often they are being directed off the estate by Aycliffe residents.
Also the verge opposite the exit of the lorry park is getting totally churned up. It is a in area of conservation. It also dangerously close to the cliff edge.
If look at the second tight curve going up towards the lorry park the lorries have to cut into the verge to go round it. There tyre tracks showing this.
I have also had lorries come round the corner partially on the wrong side of the white lines forcing me towards the crash barriers. Very unnerving.
As I have said before the road is not suitable for HGV’s 24/7…
Aycliffe residents are getting fed up of the inaction to close the lorry park due to its unsuitable location. It has been 5 months since our concerns were raised. How long will take before another car is damaged or there is an accident on South Military Road
It again feels as Aycliffe is the forgotten estate of Dover

Yep definitely beating my head against a brick wall.
Four lorries reported on the estate last night…
One lorry got stuck coming out of the lorry park at approx 6.00.am this morning blocking the road. Had to wait for a recovery truck.. The rare sight of a n Aycliffe bus.. it was before 7pm had to reverse back down South Military Hill.
E-mail usual suspects..Our MP replied needs better signage…oh dear..
I pointed out she should go and have a look at the road etc for herself.. I pointed out the road is totally unsuitable for lorries
I then said this is Aycliffe and nothing will happen or get done…

My lastest E-mail to our MP and local DDC councilors.. I expect lack of action again
Hi,
Enough is Enough! This is another hit and run by a lorry coming on the estate from that illegal lorry park. And this is in broad daylight.
Aycliffe feels like it is under siege by lorries from one’s coming on the estate, the lorry park and Dover TAP
Please do not tell me it is the signage. The lorry park is in an unsuitable area
on an unsuitable road.
Rather than keep on compiling information about the number of lorries that are coming on to the estate surely DDC have the power close it.. or can our MP get it closed. This has gone on for far too long. We need action now
You should take a look at the verge opposite the entrance of the lorry park it has now got deep tyre ruts near the the edge of the cliff. Surely very dangerous
I would like to arrange a meeting with our MP and councillors about having emergency powers to shut this lorry park down
Or does no one care about Aycliffe.
We have no evening buses
Dover Tap
No extra parking
No community hub
No investment
No levelling up
Here are the photos of the latest hit and run

You are right sir the park is in the wrong place for the reasons you have all ready said ,try the County COUNTY COUNCIL if no joy .take the law into your own hands like we done some years go.But it means standing in the -------- and by stopping the lorrys to the docks it might just work, sorry to say I am now to old to help and not on any councils which might have heled.Good luck
