I absolutely don't believe any of those charges and he wasn't found guilty, although that doesn't mean that much.
It was people jumping on the band-wagon to make a lot of money (and some did - £20 million one was paid, so it would encourage others to try) that killed his career and his character.
As I said on the previous posting, as a man and Father, he was an odd one, but that doesn't make him a pervert.
He paid off the first one because he could and because he just wanted it to go away - he wasn't a pervert or a paedophile, but very childlike; he didn't have a childhood of his own, but gave pleasure to millions through his entertaining dancing and singing.
I guess it's like most things, you either believe, or you don't and no amount or arguing will change your view.

Hooray we are at one on this !!!!!!!
Theres a real danger if we accept Ricks/Howards view, that trial by media makes someone guilty.
Its a slippery slope, Although there are many problems with the legal system that has to be way we find people guilty or otherwise.

Yes I was around when thre media hype was around, but i don't take to much notice of media hype having seen how it works? locally and nationally
I make my own mind up

There were 13 pages on Jackson in today's Daily Mail before it got on to interesting and important stuff.
OK, yes it is sad the bloke has died, yes he was a talented performer but the media reaction is way, way over the top as is the reaction of many of his fans. Its as if they have nothing important in their lives.

It occurs to me that Michael Jackson was horribly naif. I also don't think he had a particularly wonderful life, and I think he was a target for sharks and leeches. Frankly, I feel sorry for him.
On the BBC this morning there was a suggestion that it was a blessed relief he'd died. I have to concur - not with the reasons given on that programme, but for the reason that his death has probably saved him from dreadful humiliation in his London tours. From what we hear, the chap wasn't fit in any way to do them, exacerbated as he'd been dumped with five times as many as he'd originally agreed.
Some people mourn the loss to music, or the loss of an idol. I'd take a different stance and suggest that his life and the manner of his death has been a frightening illumination of the dark corners of our contemporary culture. It's raised a lot of questions over image, celebrity, morality, brutality, abuse, and consumerism.
I just hope he hasn't died in vain. But I suspect he has.

What ever people may say about the Man he was a true professional, his life was sad but as a preformer you could not fault saw him twice live and on both he was the showman of that there is no doubt.

On AOL (which is my ISP) they have links to his major videos; I watched "Thriller" for the full 13 minutes - that's what he should be remembered for - the imagination, the song writing, singing, dancing and entertaining.

I watched a few programmes last night running through his life/songs all very good.
As e agreed in earlier posts the stardom didn't realy help him, nor did his lifestyle, but he was never convicted of anything.
I liked G Glitter music but he was convicted of evil crimes against children, horrible man
M Jackson never grew out of his childhood I don't think, and thsats where the problem lied.
And now it looks like doctors who have prescribed drugs for him are gong to be hauled over the coals, that won't bring him back, he would have been well aware of the dangers of these drugs

I agree Keith, although I'm not sure he would have been totally aware of the consequences of all those drug-cocktails.

I'm sure he would have been aware, drugs can kill, sadly thats all part of lifes chances, he took this one and sadly lost
The human body can only take so much abuse before it decides enough is enough, unfortunately you then have to suffer the concequencies.
