Thank you for that Mr Perkins,Mr Cooper is already looking at doing just that. As for the Chess ,I put one on two years ago in Dover with the help of the town Council it was a Junior event held at the Gammer School for boys and open by the mayor of Dover it went off well. this one will be bigger with about 50or more taking part .and then after that one I will be working with local clubs to get one of the UK big ones, Canterbury had one and you can download it on your pc and it had 1000s of the public from all around the UK. The good thing about holding them in Dover is that it will be in the Town centre at the Dover College the headmaster is working with me by leting me put them on in the College ,This has taken some time to get this far ,and for once I did not say alot about it till I found out it could be done.Still more work needs to be done but we are geting there,I will be meeting up with local chess clubs overv the next few weeks , as I said before in Dover we do not have one at this time.

network rail seems the place to be nowadays.
a not for profit organisation, so we are told.
So councillors on a jolly to the Royal and Ancient.
Nigel obviously covering the ancient bit.
So who is our royal correspondent? Surely not Sue in one of her 'garden party' hats!

Nigel has said that only the 2 0f them attended the event at a cost of £400 each. One being the project officer and the other being Nigel as the councillor reponsible. He also said that the event generates £70,000,000 to the economy of East Kent. He also apologises for not posting himself but like me he is not able to post every day therefore to contribute to a thread and then appear to not continue to contribute may give the impression of being ignorant.

the saying is "if you want to get ahead get a hat".
if nick griffin had bothered to contact our susan and ask to borrow one of her flamboyant titfers, no doubt he would have been admitted to the garden party yesterday.
Now Griffin in a burkha would have breezed in!
(Knowing Nigel and his great interest in golf I suspect he made the most of his trip and managed to get quite a few rounds in.)
If he's getting rounds in mines a Speckled Hen please.
(That was indeed my point Bern)

I don't think there's much chance of promoting Dover for turism as long as a motorway runs parallel to the seafront polluting the air. It would also be a good idea to get the traffic out of Pencenster Gardens and Biggin Street too. I would suggest leaving only a bus connection to Pencester bus-stop, preferably using electric-engine buses.
Clearly a realistic way forward, especially given the creative thinking that (does not) go on in the heads of Dover reps.
Apparently Prince Phillip has had his invite to the BNP's barbeque withdrawn.............

might have caused embarrassment.
