17:5032996We are very sad to say that today we had to have our poor old dog put down,I think alot of you know how both my wife and me felt about her, when our son died 16years ago.I got her to help us at that time and she done just that, she was a great dog and you would always see her in the car with her head out of the window all year round and even this year she went to Scottland in the car with us it took about 15hours to get there and most of the way she had her head out of the window she was just a great pet to have around us all the time, she would jump up on the settee or the bed.
We will miss her so much, if we went out on return there she would be waiting and that was right up till today.
I had been up most of the night with her,I was lieing with her on her bed but again today she was very ill there was nothing we could do more, I put it on the forum because we was always talking about her to all we see,and some of you know her as well.

18:0233002sorry to hear about your dog,Vic,it is always sad to lose a pet especially a dog,my old dog Crystal (Bishon Friese) used to be a real friend to me,and helped me when the former Mrs JHG ran off with my ex best friend. She listened and never answered back.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

18:2133005Thank you for that indeed it is a very sad day most of us at one time do have pets and get to love them and when their time is up so hard to go to the vets 16years she had beed with us and two years ago both our cats one 24years and 26years old with our cats they were with us before our son died, and the dog we got just after he died.
We are both in our 60s now so we will not get anymore pets now,and so very hard at the end of their lifes.

18:4233008I'm so sorry to hear that, Vic. I remember a while ago when we popped round, and Lesley said your dog wasn't too bright then. She's done really well, and it's a testament to how much you cared and how much you looked after her.
It's horrid when a much-loved pet dies, and we really do feel for you, and send to you and to Lesley our very best wishes and our commiserations. I hope you'll be supported by many people's thoughts right now. Hugs to both of you.

18:5633012Ours too Vic.
Sorry to hear about the dog - you'd had it a fair few years.
I remember when Rick told us about Rebel-Dog, we were very very sad for him and Claire and their children.
It's good though that we can build such a bond between us and our pets.

20:2633021Sorry Vic. I`ve lost pets before, and they`re like a family member at times.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

20:4433024Really sorry to hear that Vic. As I said to Rick a while ago dogs form a huge part of our lives. They are totally forgiving and demand very little but give us loads in return.

21:0633028Terry.You are so right with that one,We have no wish to go to bed tonight she use to get on the bed and sleep at the bottom next to me,when she was to old to jump up there we had a bed for her on the floor next to me.
She always came up to me to tell me it was time to go to bed,it would only be 2100hrs but I would have to go.

09:0133041Sorry to hear about your dog Vic. I had met Rick's dog a number of times over the years so I could see the loss there, and I imagine your loss will be the same. One does get attached to animals because as Terry said there they give you so much and ask for little in return.

Sorry to hear about your dog, we too had a yorkie aged 16 who died a few years bk, and one that suffered health wise a few years back.
At present our little yorkie we are having to travel to and from Newmarket because its suffering from liver not working properly and will need op on 24th Nov.
So it does, like the past 3 visits to newmarket mean us having to catch the 0523 train! getting bk in Dover the first visit at 1am!!
vets fees over £4,000 but it all worth it.

Sorry to hear about your dog and the illness to your wallet. I mean when do you call it a day? and withdraw the treatment from the vets and opt for dogunasia...must be difficult but surely if its in so much pain or discomfort would it not be kinder to pull the plug so to speak.
