Barry - As an openly gay man in a long term (20 years in Jan) relationship, I find myself agreeing with you in part. Yes of course same sex partners should have the right to enter into an arrangement that is recognised by the civil authorities. Of course we should then enjoy the same rights regarding inheritance, pensions etc. as married couples (oh and I for one refuse to call a civil partnership a marriage) we should also be treated the same for the purposes of next of kin etc. Funnily enough I find all open displays of sexuality mildly uncomfortable including page 3 of the Sun, public kissing and I am not talking about a peck on the cheek as a way of greeting etc. I believe their is a time and a place for that sort of behaviour and out in public is neither. However I disagree with you about Clause 28, from my experience it did so much more damage than any conceived good it was intended to deliver.
