If there is a new setup at the planning dept which is not before time,we must wait and see what happens with Dover but what ever they do pl;ease.please make it soon,so some of us old ones can see it happing.I also know it is very hard to move on at that this time because of the cut back,As I said before in the good book in the good years you must save for the bad years this did not happen did it?:

I'll jump in and be the first to ask, Montagu and Dover, what's the relationship ?

It'll be relative to Sandwich, no doubt Barrie, which is part of Dover District. Local names for local historic connections.

Kitchener had links with Broome and Denton but I could find nothing nearer to home.

I was given this interesting information by ex-forumite and local history buff Paul. It is such a great shame that he left he has so much historical knowledge of the area.................
Kitchener and Haig were names of WW1 military camps on the site of Pfizer which later became refugee camps after WW2..... (Cowan Camp was nearer to Richborough 'secret port' and Stonar Camp nearer Sandwich).....
