10:5029045I guess all the households out there will have the new vouchers from McDonalds in Biggin Street. This is great news for our recession hit populace, for those trying to feed the family in these hard times of job losses and what have you. So go get 'em citizenry. I love McDonalds meself..I have wide ranging tastes its true, I have even been known to scoff down the odd Bombay Hot Noodle.
While of course some people get sniffy about McDonalds, they nevertheless play a big role in the community. I spent many years in there with daughter BB who was at one time an afficionado of the chicken nugget!...and wouldnt eat anything else. It didnt do her any harm when you see how she turned out.
But yes the bargains are good
£1.99 for a Bic Mac and Medium Fries
£1.99 for a Double Cheeseburger and Large Fries
you can lunch all week(7 days) for £14squids.
If you are one of the unlucky ones who didnt get any vouchers then read this and weep!!

14:1229053I'm with you on this one Paul, the kids always want a Macdonalds and it doesnt do any harm occasionally. So the fact we can send them in with £4 and there happy is fine by me.

i am not keen, have a burger now and then from them, but kids love the place

17:2729067I'm with Barry on this one. Unhealthy muck, even the seagulls don't eat it for fear of growing fat. The fried sparrows legs takeaway in the Market isn't any better.

17:4029069Regular six month cycle here. I convince myself they aren't that bad and go and have one. As ever I find they are truly disgusting and then proceed to forget this over time. After six months I'll have another having convinced myself they are OK. Break the cycle....

18:5929079My particular grief with BigMac is that the young single mothers use MacDonalds as an alternative (surrogate) to being a real mum and cooking a stew or roasting a bit of chicken with mash and veg.
However you pays your money and take your choice.

19:2629083for most families is it a now and again treat for the children, very few would be silly enough to expect a balanced diet from eating there every day.
out of interest, does anyone know why they stick a slice of pickled gherkin in everything other than drinks and ice cream?

23:3229101I'm one of the lucky ones who did not get a voucher. Please, for goodness sake, don't get me started on the evil McDonalds and it's so-called "food". Jeez, I'd rather eat dog turd. And pay for the pleasure.

04:0929102Before making your choices I recommend a light read called...'Fast Food Nation' it sure opens a ripe 'ol can of worms.
Oh Boy!, That'll be the day.........

06:0529105For me, and it is only my subjective opinion, before McDs solicitors get their pens out, it is outrageously hypocritical filthy unhealthy lazy dollops of something that should not be dignified with the name Food and brainwashes children into thinking that is what food looks like and that McD spend all day petting lambs, digging allotments and being supernice. But as you say, you pays your money and you takes your choice....................

08:0229115I can see all you guys are far too spoiled by these television chefs. No doubt as you break sweat cooking your bream, and thrill over your trout, I will have had my Bic Mac and Chips for the stunning sum of £1.99. The perfect antidote to politicians, bankers, long winter nights, and indeed long winded television chefs.
As an avid goer outer, I am disillusioned by the restaurant experience lately as Ive said elsewhere, empty places charging top whack. So Ive found the perfect solution - sitting in your car watching the smoke belching traffic hurl past while enjoy a lip licking McDonalds!

You are right about sweating over a hot stove ...last night I cooked Roast Lamb,Roast Potatoes,Leeks Au Gratin (with a slug of white wine....in The Leeks Bern!!!!not me )Carrots & Cabbage and gravy you could stand a fork up in. 10 of us were seated and I reckon the whole meal cost about £30...Whats my point? Good honest home cooked food sat round a table with family is far better than stopping at a food station to refuel. It wasn't any type of special event other than I wasn't workiing and everyone else was...
Beer Festival starts today in the Peoples Park.Large Marquees abound so I'm off to sample a few sherbets...
