17:3133555Just over a month until the big day and thanks to the generosity of local businesses, DTC,Rotary,Lions,Masons Buddy G and Sheli we have achieved our goal.
Today Karen( Age Concern principle officer) has written to the DE asking for entertainers to support Buddy G(Richard) and for volunteer drivers for the mini buses.
Age Concern has had a wonderful response from those wishing to attend including married couples, so the day should be a resounding success.

07:5133573Well done and Congratulations to all concerned.
Many elderly people will have the best Christmas for years, instead of being on their own and probably cold too.

18:3035802A slight delay in letting everyone know how the day went and my posting location( Birmingham) not so exotic as last week but the buzz of the day is still with Karen and me. If the comments of our guests is anything to go by then the day was an amazing success. Not only should we thank all those wonderful sponsors and the volunteers and the band from the Golden Lion but just when you think the day couldn't get better up steps Buddy G to turn the day into what can only be described as a pensioner rave. He even had a lady who rarely smiles or communicates, dancing with her husband from the confines of her wheelchair. May I also give a special mention to Jenny Morgan(Curiosity of Dover) who virtually doubled the value of the money we gave her for the Christmas gifts and our own Sheli B for their wonderful gifts.
