Temporary Road Closure - Clarendon Place, Dover - 3-5 August 2015
It will be necessary to close part of Clarendon Place, Dover from Monday 3rd August 2015 for up to 3 days, between 8.00 am and 4.30 pm each day.
It is hoped that the road can be re-opened outside the working hours, although there may be occasions when this is not possible.
Clarendon Place will be closed in the vicinity of number 8, with no through access during closures.
The alternative route is via Clarendon Place, Belgrave Road, Clarendon Street and Malvern Road.
The closures are to enable Affinity Water South East to carry out works to provide a new water connection.

My road got closed off on Monday morning without warning and we were told it would be a 3 day job finishing today. Closure signs are still outside as I type.

Road still closed despite there being no work in progress and no affinity van. My understanding that in most European countries utility companies have to liaise with each other to reduce having the roads dug up too often.

Looking at Dover express, formal notice that Highways England are going to be closing slip roads and laybys and putting in speed limits all around A2/M20/A20 soon, though details aren't yet on their website - great timing!

Those are the usual night-time closures for maintenance. These legal notices appear regularly when they have work planned - this time for drainage works, so perhaps they'll sort out the lake under the Guston Road bridge that happens every time with have a lot of rain.
