Could I start by saying, yer I was that geezer, don't think Sid was at those dizzy heights of being a cllr at that time.
I have to say since calling Amelia ** chair ** she became a very good friend, both to myself, my wife and family.
long after she retired from the council my wife anfd I had many a chat in the street both over old times, but also about our families.
Have to say although we may not have agreed on the political side, Amelia was a good CHAIR(LOL)
but also a very sincere cllr, who truly got involved even outside the council chamber.
Whilst not wanting to single out 1 cllr she earnt my respect very early, and im pleased I came across her, - 14 October 2009 09:1430437I completely agree with you about the one time model turned DDC Chairman, Amelia. She was a 'diamond'.
Thinking about it, keith, though you often did annoy her (and other chairmen) in that way you were not the first to do it and I dont think it could have been Sid either. I think it was after the 1987 election (Sid was elected in 1991 from memory). - Brian Dixon

the football team have qualified for the world cup final stages with their best ever results and the cricket team has won back the ashes.
most countries would be very satisfied with that sort of success.

council ever had, and have to say she took such an interest in my family both inside and outside the chamber i was proud to be in her company
