Interesting idea from Charlie but I think some of these services will be opening in Deal. At the back of my mind is Watty pulling me up over this when I suggested that Deal Hospital was for the chop.

I thought it was the old casualty building on the right that was demolished not the part with the main entrance.

It was Jan the bit with the warehouse look to the roof. the old workhouse part is intact and the main entrance which was rebuilt incorporating part of the original building is intact.

The link shows the entrance car park area before demolition started, the low building to the left is gone now as is the warehouse bit to the right ( both later additions)the entrance porch/ambulance drop off has been removed and the doors boarded up.
What remains are all listed buildings so should remain including the nurses accommodation overlooking the site.

Seems now that not all the old hospital is being sold but part converted into a care home for which Charlie can take the credit for.

The 60 beds is likely to be the newly built care home facility on the former Powell Print site about 100yds from Buckland hospital footprint. KCC/CCG have to commission those beds from the independent sector owner.

30 dementia care beds were identified previously as former Dr's housing at Randolph Rd. That leaves virtually all the built area of the former Hospital footprint for auction.

I thought Randolph Road was set aside for nurses, last I heard they were standing empty and being vandalised.

The plan is to turn them into a dementia village which has got to be a joke. They were finally cleaned up and re-shuttered earlier this year, they are going to cost hundreds of thousands to bring back up to liveable standards let alone care standards.
The previous tenants were evicted at short notice because they needed them i think 3 yrs ago.

Until two months ago & still now[when last discussed] Randolph housing is the dementia project based on Dutch model of care.
