Agreed Sue there is a lack of discipline in these times.
Where was the shelter in River? I shall tip my hat next time I'm near.

I know all the people in the "Mercury" photo and have the utmost respect for their views however when we leave the house we lock our doors and windows and don't consider that as giving in to burglars. The same with cars, but the tram shelter is open to all and sundry as evidenced by used syringes and similar items left for Veolia to clear up. The argument used about going around schools lecturing children is a bad one as 99% don't get up to things like that otherwise the shelter would be damaged on a daily basis. CCTV is a non starter otherwise the former fountain in Market Square would never get a soaping or fights break out after the pubs close in town.

I know the tram shelter is much loved by some of those who live in the area.
However as a tax payer I object that DDC keep having to fund the repairs caused by these mindless vandals. I wonder how many thousands of pounds have already been spent on repairing the shelter which is a sitting target for the idiots be they children, drunks or druggie adults

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

People still refer to the spot where the shelter is as the "horse trough", what has always baffled me is why they moved the vandal proof trough to Market Square.
