Paul thanks for the considered reply. I do understand my contradictions and realise they weaken the overall case, however, what theme runs behind the postings? A desire to make things happen. So whilst understanding the realities, I also know it actually just comes down to a willingness and determination to get things done.
If there were agreement on all sides about play equipment for instance, then I am sure the money would be found from somewhere. Local government, national government, business, they're all the same at the end of the day. If someone wants something badly enough they can find a way to get the funding for it.
So, I hear the answers from reds and blues and even dear old Vic, but who is going to stop giving reasons why we can't do something, and deliver? You know, even an answer along the lines of "not possible in this coming financial year but top of the list for 2011/12" would be refreshing.

Sid, I don't think anyone said finance was the problem. It was location and site availability and obstructions.
I think my post indicated that all levels of local government should move on this.
Elms Vales was not on the original list for a refurb. initially but was added to compensate for the Clarendon shortage. Let's not forget they are the same ward.
Sue pointed out the major upgrades-all promises kept-, add the skate parks, you remember them well, no doubt. We did that with KCC. Look at the Sea Sports Centre. Joint working/funding. We make the funding game work.
Come and see me, as two Andy's and others including Vic. have done. We are not isolationists, we just have difficulties keeping up with the 24 hour clock.

bad news for you victor, the english democrats are standing in our constituency at the next election.
they must take a few votes off of you, mainly by people who are not keen on the scots, irish and welsh.
why does terry nunn spring to mind?

Vic
Your poll results show the Lib/Dems on 45%?

Marek
I think therefore I am (not a Tory supporter)
130% turn out. Excellent! Vic for Chancellor of Exchequer!

At least Vic didn`t give the 45% to his own party as he`d have lost all credibility.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.
