Valentine's Day: Romance is thriving!
- 8 February 2010 10:4739981You would have to be living in total seclusion on Mars not to notice that Valentines Day is fast approaching. Yes this great commercial juggernaut will be steamrolling over your wallet very very soon. You and I will be rushing out headlong to buy those suspenders and red knickers we've always fancied, and thats just for ourselves !! ....but while doing that dont forget the girls!
They need underwear too, or maybe even chocloates, but what one does with the chocolates is down to individual taste!! 
and we couldnt possibly discuss that sort of thing on here!
But while this event, to be a bit more serious for the moment, is blatantly commercial, it nevertheless offers a considerable financial boost to a great many businesses around town. Businesses that certainly in and around Dover need that financial boost. Its also great fun to take part...so expect the restaurants near you to be thriving this weekend, on saturday night in particular.
A little bird tells me, as he/she whistles through the grapevine, that The Ramada Hotel for example is doing rather well. The All Night long bed and dinner combination pckages have been sold out completely, sold out to hot throbbing pulsating romantic couples. Who'd have thought that Dover would be such a hotbed of romantic liaison.

To clarify we do indeed have no bedrooms left on Saturday 13th Feb but are still able to take bookings for a Romantic Meal for Two in the Restaurant with Rebecca Robinson - soloist.
We also have a fantastic package available for Sunday 14th at £99.00 including 4 Course Meal (without entertainment) and bed and breakfast for two.

I love Valentines day so I do, they have some good chocolate hearts and a great variety of reasonably priced novelty gifts at Tesco, I love to get flowers on the day

- 9 February 2010 08:5540077I certainly hope the local businesses do well - whether gift shops like Curiosity of Dover, the card shops I'm sure will do well and La Senza must do well with their ranges.
Restaurants like the Carpathian are offering a good meal for Valentines and it's always good food and value there. Even Marine Court are offering Valentine's meals for £14.
I did send round an email about the Ramada's special offers; it seemed so good that it was over 3 days, just in case one half couldn't make it. I liked the overnighter for £99.
