I'm realy baffled as to how or why you would want to connect a very serious British Airways dispute, with the topic heading volcano.
2 very diffrent subjects
im happy to debate B/A dispute but feel this thread is not the correct place

I can see you don't want a serious debate on the B/A dispute and thats fine
Louie Walsh, hmmm, nope; Paul Boland, hmm, nope, Micky Walsh, hmmm nope, Willie Walsh hmmm YES SIR!!!
A bit worrying that I can name four mad Oirishmen without too much trouble eh??

kieth, whatever ba/unite do has nothing to do with me.
the reason it dosent is because i dont fly any where.
the ba chief is an arse and he knows it.

colin,thats the one.
What i cant understand is that during the volcano eruption b,a really moaned and groaned also went against the advice of others to get planes up in air again , then they refuse to keep their workers happy, even going to court to impose a ban on their strikes hence another strike due = more money lost . I wouldnt be surprised to see b,a to fold in the near future.

yeah rock on tommy.
Don't underestimate the strength of BA; they are one of the largest airlines in the world. The other airlines know if BA give in, they could be next. Hence, the other airlines wet-leasing to BA to break the strike. ACMI or wet lease means BA hires a plane with a full compliment of crew to fill the gaps caused by the Unite action.
The market is awash with aircraft and crews for lease so, carrying 60% plus of their traffic this way means there will be little or no effect on BA.
If the Unite boss is so smart, as he purports to be, he'd know this. So, his members are going to suffer whilst he postures. Hmm, I think we've seen that before! Willie Walsh is still a knob-head, but he holds all the cards.
