- 18 May 2010 22:2352500I thought Hubbards was in Priory Street, the shop occupied by the computer repair shop next to Banana Moon. It was a proper butchers, with sawdust all over the tiled floor and they served beautiful meat. I believe Mrs Hubbard is still alive, though she's in her late 80s or so now I'm sure. There's not a butchers in the town to match them now though Cappers in the Charlton Centre are, in my opinion anyway, the best and far and away beat Rooks for quality, service and value.

lol! not sure about discerning tastes Big Dave but was seduced by the labelling on the Richmond packaging where its says as BWS hints there... Oirish!! Whether they are actually Irish at all I dont know and I have my doubts but I like to pretend Im back on the ould homestead cooking them over a big fire on an open range.

I stand by my statement earlier and challenge any other contenders to bring their sausages to my next office BBQ ( I have just got a Weber and some locally made charcoal from Lydden I want to try - and some of St Omers best spare!) and we can have a competition.
