14:3266674Remember the one penny weighing machine`s on the street`s of town`s in the 1960s, or either before that or after? Is there anything like them about still, and if not why not? I`m sure they`d be a nice little money earner today for some small struggling shop in town, in this weight conscious world we live in now. Does anyone on here ever weigh themselves regular, or would they do so more if there was an accurate weighing machine in town, regularly calibrated?
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

15:0366678I weigh myself weekly. About 6-7 years ago I was on the verge of tipping 18 stone brought about by a health problem that prevented me from doing any mildly strenuous exercise (didn't stop me running for the Indies or revitalising carnival although it was very tough) while I waited almost 4 years for the NHS to fix me (couldn't afford private). After I was fixed the weight meandered down to just under 17 stone and then I decided to try a small portion of yoghurt before bed. This of course replaced any after dinner snacks and kept me going until breakfast several hours later.
Suddenly I noticed the pounds were dropping off, slowly but consistently, until a couple of weeks back I went below 15 stone for the first time in over 30 years. At this point I stopped the nightly yoghurt and guess what? Yep, I m back to 15 stone 4 pounds.
So, yes, I confes to watching my weight, not through vanity, but through an interest in how I am doing and getting down to a healthier weight. At my last check-up I was told my liver and kidney functions were equal to those of a man 20 years my junior, blood pressure was good, cholesterol as it should be and best of all, I feel fitter without doing all that gymnasium stuff.

15:3466687I never have done weight watching, when I was boxing my weight was taken before each fight,I do not take stock of what I eat,but I do not have butter anymore and not much salt lots of greens and meat ,do not drink or smoke so I do not know my weight but it is about the same now as when I was fighting or runing etc ,for the ones who can geting out and just lots of walking does help your weight and keeping fit and if you can do running, any ball games, on a bike ,swimming is one if not the best of them all and great fun to. but get out and about less beer etc and your on your way to a long life, but some are ill etc and can not do that. But geting back to the weight machine, I went on a talking one once 3times in the same day, and it did not tell me the same weight on any of the 3 times

15:3666688cannot see public weighing machines ever returning.
people nowadays go to gyms or fitness clubs if they are concerned about their weight.

21:3366806Had these all over the paper mill, for obvious reasons, hence, I know I`ve been a constant weight for the last 40 years.
