keith
in think that chas will be run off his feet at the moment trying to suss out how things work at the palace of westminster, though you are right in saying that he could post on here and address a mass audience.
i do not know why he apparently ignored this medium prior to being elected, but feel that he would be best served putting across his views here.
maybe blue barry could twist his arm just a little?

I suspect that Charlie will not normally post on the forum for the same reasons GP did not. I think it would be unwise of an MP to do so directly in the kind of political climate we ahve. DC's comments about tweeting would provide a good reason.

not a good answer barry.
chas posts on facebook and twitter, neither relevant to local people and hardly good forums for serious debate.

I think that you have actually made the point howard...

you may be right barry.
i hope not, it would be better if our honourable member faced up to local people in serious debate.
only time will tell, he has to be given time.

Sorry but he has had all the time in the world.

So Vic, how come you didn't make ANY fuss about Gwyn ignoring us all on DovreForum? Is it one rule for some and a different rule for others?
I think GP was right not to post on here, for the reasons given, and CE is right also. However, I do think some communications could be relayed via the Zoom-meister though. That would be a positive compromise.

No there is not Sid, at the start of my post it was just about the one meeting, but it has moved on from that, but the forum is agood way to get your messages out, so thinking along them lines it would be agood way for us to see what our MP is doing.

I am hoping to get a letter back from the Queen soon if and when I will put it on the forum.

vic
i will ask one of our elite forum members who has access to the monarch to give her a jog along.
no names of course.
Perhaps we should get Charlie to punch a member of the public, on camera. Would be a surefire way to get a peerage!

It realy is amusing to watch.
When Gwyn represented Dover Barryw and others shouted for him to post.
Now Charlies MP its unwise of Charlie to post
Isn't politics funny

keith is right, many posters (sid in particular)were vociferous in their condemnation of gwyn for not posting here.

BARRYW
It appears some comment on here then forget what they say, but no worries, all water under the bridge.
Think howard summed it up.
Howard is right, I did call for Gwynn to post on here. He was a silent MP for over a decade who only asked fautuous grovelling and very well prepared questions in the House, and I wanted to know what he was doing for Dover that warranted a salary of over £55kpa.
On every major issue he was to be seen firmly behind the leading campaigners and first in front of the cameras.
As for Charlie, I am happy to give him time to settle in and find his feet before I get on his case too.
I did suggest that if Charlie was to follow Gwynn's lead (strange seeing those two words in the same sentence) he could at least send info to PaulB/Howard for posting on the Forum.
Whoever it is, our MP should be publicly held to account by his electors.

SID
And now we disagree again lol
Gwyn was ok as an MP had a lot of respect in commoms and Dover District.
Also Gwyn often was a rebel
not enough times for me, but he did.
So that said MP'S should be accountable and I look forward to your unbiased attack on Charlie in time.
But I do suspect this won't happen

we did get press releases from gwyn and one or two from chas
i think our new member would benefit from keeping us informed.
sid is right about him needing time to settle in, may take quite a while.
probably still trying to find where the bogs are.
Glad you've joined in Keith; perhaps you can advise what good Gwyn did for Dover during his reign because I haven't been able to find out.
Make no mistake, I expect my elected representatives to get off their proverbials and work for the town and provide tangible evidence of their efforts. If Charlie becomes Gwyn Mk2, rest assured, I won't be quiet.
Unlike dyed in the wool, can't see the reality from 2 paces voter, I have in my time voted Labour, Conservative and Independant and am happy to go after any who aren't, in my opinion, doing the job properly.
