Vic, I read 29 and it makes not the slightest difference to my posting.I'm telling you how the system works whichever party is in power.

If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!
Still far too much hot air by those trying to score a totally unnecessary point.

At the 3 meetings I went to before the Election, when the public was asked if they would like to see the port sold off 99.6 put their hands up to say no "Thats right 99.6 was for NOT selling the port.
Well that will be 99.6% of those attending. The silent/unattending majority may see it differently.

Vic - you are just being very petty and a bit sad with your pointless and daft attack on Charlie. You clearly need to find out how an MP should work and what is actually important in achieving that.
Surely UKIP will have briefed Vic and their other candidates on this before the election? Very rum do if they didn't I'd say. Not good to have MP's who don't know what they are supposed to do and where to do it eh?

But they dont have any MPs and did not expect to get any so Vic, to be fair, would not have any reason to know what would be expected of him when elected or how to do the job.

In the paper today a letter from our new MP Mr Charlie Elphicke.
To the thousands who backed me, thank you.
I would like to thank the thousands of people who supported me at the general election.I am delighted and honoured to be elected to serve the people of Dover and Deal.
Iwas stunned to be elected with a majority of almost 5,300.This levelof trust places a great sense of responsibility on my shoulders.
ALREADY I have been putting our case to stop the port sale and for a proper hospital.
Iwill put my all into getting the things we need for our community and will work tirelessly to deliver the people,s priorities.
And I am here to serve each elector as well as the constituency as a whole.
If I can assist, please do get in touch with me,Charlie Elphicke MP, House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA.
Well I think it is time to get the pens out.

Sour grapes, hard luck and tough I'm afraid. I've read many of your posts (twice many times to decipher) and you really show that you do not have much of a clue. You certainly give me the impression you are just on a massive ego trip.
At every opportunity you can you seem to do your level best to turn things to your own advantage. I'm sure you're a very nice man but you don't do the town's image any good with your continual whining.
I'll also say, in my opinion and, whether you like it or not - selling the port will do more good than harm - and it will happen.

DHB hold two types of meetings, Port Consultative Committee Meetings where they report on their activities and note the views of other groups and individuals (these always tell you how well they are doing and how vital whatever plans they have are for the future) and then they hold Public Consultation Meetings. It is at the latter that they present their proposals and take questions from the floor and Both Gwyn and Charlie do attend these. I have never seen Gwyn or Charlie at the former type but am prepared to accept that they may have attended some at some point.
In the end neither do really matter as much as the MP fighting Dover's corner in Westminster and the boardrooms and this Gwyn did and Charlie has promised to.
The election is over now and any further 'debate' over who did or did not turn up at a photo op' is pointless and demeening.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

I think the best way to get answers to questions raised by VIC is for Charlie boy to post on here to say why he felt it more important to attend the house.
I'm not saying he's right or wrong.
That's the only way any of us will know
