howard
dont forget the extra!!!!!
There are many sources of information which we can all digest and take on and decide the bits (lots)we agree with.
It's no surprize to hear jacqui's comments, but rather than attack others points of views and attempt to silence them, be happy labour people are posting, not so long ago posters on here were saying labour was trying to silence us, now some of us have proved otherwise, you try to silence us, just because we have a diffrent view.
how boring it would be if we all had same views.
just on the election (as iv said in at least 5 postings now) labour got hammered in the elections i held my hands up, and the result was worse than even i expected
but lose we did, and we will bounce back.
but im not a bad loser, iv just mentioned the 1 leaflet that a well respected politician by all parties lost his cool
it was gutter politics, and i dont want local politics going down that road, a reasonable request me thinks.
I have on more than 1 occassion urged paulb to BRING BACK the politics its showing now its sorely missed.
OVER TO YOU PAULB
Howard does well to draw our attention to one of the bastions of local journalism, the Adscene. It sums up so very well the real capabilities and priorities of the local press. It's full of inane ads, has little of any real local interest, and there does not appear to be any coherent strategy in its focus. Still, it pays the bills.

Its looking like the papers struggling, BERN is the 2nd person to announce she has stopped buying the paper
thats the only way to have a voice on your disagreement with them.
Was realy pleased at town council last night to hear independent cllr morgan say she hasnt brought express for 4 years after its continued attacks on locals

i thought it would have been a duty of all councillors to read the local press in order to gauge some facets of local opinion.
If local press was reliable and consistent, perhaps. It seems to have its own agenda and to Hell with the rest. Local reps would be better off standing on street corners and chatting. Keith and Sue seem to have the right approach - talk to people!!!!

the local press do all have letters pages open to all to contribute.
local politicos complain about it, but are very quick off of the mark when a photo opportunity arises.
talking to as many local people as possible is also very important, but not much use if few of our councillors live in dover.
don't forget they give space for clubs and societies to give unedited views on what is happening.
the london road community forum has taken advantage of this, just as an example.
