Re Crundall's cottage -
Bob says William Crundall's HOUSE was at the bottom of Whitfield Hill, is now a retirement home... is the one called the 'cottage' ?

No sorry Kath Crundall,s Cottage,the reason why I asked is I have just found it after being a Cllr in the ward (there is a clue)for 8 years,and it is a little gem,so it is in Tower Hamlets ward so from the Town Hall to Kings Hall or between Boy's Grammar and Girl's Grammar!
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

sort of Terry but if you go into Goodfellow way and turn right go to the end of the building it is there sitting on top of the river,it was Crundall's wood yard,lovely place

Here's a picture I took this afternoon on my dog patrol, sadly my dog responded to another and knocked the camera out of my hand, hence being out of focus!
And the other side of the main building at the bottom of Wood Street. I think that it housed either Planning or Technical Services of DBC and may have carried on into DDC time.

It was in use by DDC, Engineers if I remember correctly, so would be Technical Services. That department later moved to the offices above the original Woolworths and George Locks.

And on the left hand end is an large awful sat dish, badly wired (sometimes across the pavement) and in a conservation area too!
