That's the block of flats between the co-op and the Dieu Stone Lane bridge over the Dour, taken from Pencester Garddns. The bandstand is about 30 yards away to your left.

correct, i was actually in that circle that has 4 benches where the paths meet.
will have to hunt around for a new one unless another member sets one.

Belgrave hill just below Westbury Rd where I was born and was there over 30years you are outside the old school I went to in the late1940s the road to your left is Clarendon place and at the very top is Westbury Crescent.You can just see the end of the old Westbury pub where I had my first pint of beer at a very young age,and then took me some 30years before I had my last one.

If you live in the house next to the school,in the 1950 there was a good looking lady from france living there or the house next door,she was about 40years old but did not like kids and would shout at us to clear off.

there was a french lady that lived two doors from the school. not sure if she was there in the 50's.
if it is the same one she was married to my neighbour roy who died about 7 years ago.

interesting stuff vic, many people i speak to around here thought she was belgian.
