When things were going his way you could not keep him out of the press or on the Forums but now he has gone missing.
Should he not be on here backing up his Boss. Make s you think.

He is rather busy Vic as County Councillor, District Cabinet member and Chairman of Conservative association preparing for an election. This is a very busy time and I know he is out at weekends door to door working on our behalf. PaulW is a big boy and can take care of himself.

For goodness sake Vic - you are turning into another KS.
I have it on very good authority from a serving councillor that although Nigel signed the papers it was NOT his decision to close the toilets. Can you please get that through your head and stop using your lies to try to get votes in the forth coming elections. The councillor who told me is not a conservative so he had no reason to lie to me.
All your party will do is take votes away from the two main contenders and to be honest I would not waste my vote on you anyway. As Barry says above, Nigel is busy working, he hasn't got time (like you) to waste all day on his computer.
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

Thank you for that Jacqui we all say and do what we think is right, and that is what I am doing it has nothing to do with elections. You know as well as anyone I have been saying the same thing for years and will keep saying them till I drop. But you have a right to say that you think I am wrong, maybe I am only time will tell.

Sorry Jacqui I have seen an e-mail tonight under the freedom of information that says that it was Nigel and the e-mail says alot more than that.Remember at Council we were told that they were closed as a temporary measure, that is incorrect as well, and the only reason they were reopened is because that the decision was not done correctly.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

Give it a rest Vic .Nigel has Im sure relived his actions .When you have a go remember he has a family enough is enough .
We all have our battles won or lost but to be strong and move on .I never never hold a grudge I display my feelings at times but you have to learn to let go .In the end the only person who suffers is yourself .

Susan! I have attacked Nigel on the toilet closures and we are friends but I didn't ask for his resignation.
I know Nigel is a good man at heart and pressures made him come up with the toilet closures,he and I and you know it is wrong.

Well said Sue - as ever you tell it like it is.
Sorry John but the person who told me is a bit higher up the tree than you are and I believe what they told me. I would be very careful what you present as fact, it could bite you on the bum
Roger, you never spoke a truer word
Vic -- as Sue said - give it a rest!!

I am going to do that Jacqui ,been on my leg to long. Not a good day for Dover but it is over lets wake up in the morning new day with new hopes and let the sun shine out.
JHG - I was reading your posting (#10) when my phone rang. I managed to read as far as "Susan! I have attacked Nigel on the toilet" and was waiting with baited breath to read the rest while taking my call, just in case you had actually attacked Nigel on the toilet. I mean, that would have been a tad extreme eh? Luckily the next word was "closures" otherwise I think we'd have had a whole new story to sink our grotty teeth into.
But seriously (and I am just fooling around), I think the reaction to Nigel was a bit overblown myself, I know he made a professional cock up but hey, it's not like he molested kids or anything. I think the reaction to Nigel shows what's bad about the web - it is very easy for one bad seed to be planted and quickly grow into an ugly tree. I still like the guy, and while I don't claim to know the full details behind it all, I am pretty sure he believed he was doing the right thing at the time. A corrupt toilet-enemy, our Nigel? I just can't see that myself.

Your email proves nothing JHG, Nigel as the responsible Cabinet member would have acted on Cabinet and/or Leader instructions. PaulW has already accepted responsibility as a Leader should.

Rick /Barry the whole point is that this decision was taken behind closed doors by 1 or 2 Councillors and never appeared in any Council papers or meetings, even a urgent decision paper was not issued. Then an e- mail was sent to the officer stating close the toilets. Now I know Nigel as a portfolio holder can make decisions and I don't have a problem with that but only urgent and decisions that are not in conflict, but closure of Public Toilets would always get peoples backs up and why did it not come through the Council procedure.
Nigel and I have known each other along time,as a person Nigel is a respected politician and I have a lot of time for him but this was wrong.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

Lessons were learnt .I did not sit back and accept the excuses and the Leader did apologise .however we must move on .Its no good holding a grudge .I would have not taken that decision but my way is not to everyones liking .
Let us hope the DTC and DDC have moved forward on this .,
