20:5440133the wildwood trust, white cliffs countryside project and st margarets parish council have jointly arranged for a herd to be released into the south foreland valley.
apparently the land needs to be grazed to encourage insects and plants to survive and grow.
looking forward to going down there, no doubt phil will be stationed there with his box brownie and victor with a bag of goodies for the nags.
3 organisations getting together and quietly getting something to happen has to be admired.

Howard you have not said a herd of what,are they to be ponys,cows.
If they are ponys that might be some what of a worry,the other 3 have been there some 16years on their own and might not get on with any new heard that might go there.

SWMBO and myself walked the Coleridge Trail last half term from Over Stowey to Porlock. The Quantock ponies running free over the hills looked wonderful.
So there are apparently Koniks at Sandwich Bay already according to the Wiki article?
I shall keep my eyes peeled as I cycle through tomorrow. Does anyone know where they are? I can't say I've ever noticed them.

23:0540452I am talking about the ponys at the bay and they do move them about from one side of the road to the cliffe side in the good weather.
But because of my leg I have not been out there for 3weeks now,but will try to get to them over the weekend,I miss them alot,I have been feeding them now for some 16years.

12:2540495Howard,They are Exmoor ones they and the ones at Dover were in the first place in Sandwich bay but were moved over to Dover then four of them was taken over to St-Margarets Bay,but now there are 3 of them left.
