Bob
You always attempt to follow controversy.
Many of us may not like the way the NHS is presently run, and I don't think you will find many people that suppurt the too heavy salaries top heavy bosses while people working on the front line struggle .
I presume as your appearing so against the NHS
You and your family never use it?

Keep clapping Keef!
'NHS staff took more than three times as many sick days as the average worker even before the pandemic struck - with stress, anxiety and depression blamed for a third of all absences, official figures revealed today.
Health service data shows there were 17.7million days of leave taken between April 2018 and March 2019 – the equivalent of around 14 days per worker - mainly for mental health problems or muscle and back pain.
But the average Briton took off just 4.2 days over roughly the same period, according to the Office for National Statistics'.

I am not at all surprised how many days were or still are taken off for health problems. Maybe they should go in with a simple cold that could put a vulnerable patient at risk, as for mental health and back problems etc that is not exactly a surprise when you think of who and what they sometimes have to see and deal with on a regular basis.

You need to take out at least 60% of office and support staff that will never come across those pressures and considering it's near impossible to fire someone in the Nhs, how many of those support staff are just taking the piss, different matter for front line staff in general admittedly.

Fun Fact:-
'Overall NHS absence in England peaked at the start of the pandemic and sick days were highest among support staff - and the lowest among doctors. '

So cleaners, office staff, kitchen staff etc may not be directly involved with the ill but can still understand and at times see what is going on and are vital keeping the hospitals keeping the place going.
The main problem is there seems to be a top desk bound manager for almost anything you can think of, as more money goes with almost any title so cutting out these titles would immediately save money. Maybe time to bring in a top supermarket boss to sort out the seed from the chaff. A few years ago Morrisons got rid of quite a few management titles by simply loosing those titles while keeping the staff although on slightly reduced wages, most are still there.

With the top local boss saying stupid things no wonder the NHS has problems, does she really think staff do not do their best to discharge patients when ever possible.
