If anyone is interested although the Mayor comes from the minority labour administration.
The chairs of committees have not gone well for Labour .
First committee has a conservative chair and indy vice chair ..
It appears because labour has 8 cllrs they expected to win all these positions .
But the Tories ),/greens/Indies together have ten votes and outvoted the labour nominations.
That should make things a little more interesting
With the feedback I'm getting labour senior members were far from happy !

Does anyone really care what happens in the Town Council?

I wonder if Keith will ever be happy with anything to do with present day Labour.
DTC only exists so petty bureaucrats get the chance to think they are relevant, a toothless group.

Just the same as your pretending not to be a Tory lol
I'm no different and have come to the view more recently that the Town council is just a taxpayers burden .

The average allocation for Town and Parish is quoted to be 3.6% of the council tax charge. I'd rather have the reduction than waste my money on those serial grifters.

Keith, I admit I lean very slightly more to the right than the left but unlike the majority of staunch political posters on here at least I try to be open minded.

Only when its elected members give away shedloads of money.

Jan
I'm open
But also respect your right to lean which ever way you wish .
I may not agree with your posts but unlike yourself i don't keep saying I don't wish to see your posts which is often your leaning .
Getting back to the subject
If nothing else the present numbers could well make all the parties have to talk to each other
Rather than being bull dozed through as labour has done in the past

I'll bite Keith.
Provide one example of anyone on this forum having said that. Let alone often

Be interesting how Gordon C DDC Chairman deals with
Town Mayor Sue Jones when it deals with local seniority protocols.

I think I got the message over to him.In all fairness Sue Jones always respected me when;I was with her.It was Ronnie Philpot who everyone adored who,I had the most trouble.with and the Town Clerk.I always told people it’s the chain you respect.Mind you I got away with it wearing my lovely hats .Underneath the hat I had a good sense of humour.Im looking forward to working with Nick Dixon .I always recall a senior mistress at Dover College talking about Ronnie advising me she will not upstage you sue Ronnie told me off for wearing a hat after 6.00 pm .I said I’m in a Church.

Nothing negative Sue
Reality yes
Many posters live no where near Dover
It is a shame DTC isn't used as a local body as it was intended .
More time is spent on lobbying on who will wear a chain around the neck than making Dover a better place .

I live 3,900 miles from Dover - hence not being able to get involved in local politics just yet!

At the risk of upsetting Keith yet again
.
Those who do not live or work or regularly visit Dover can certainly comment on any subject but their opinion counts for little.
No offence to Neil who only gets involved now and then with sensible interesting comments.

I tend to stick to national politics and Dover Athletic for now, as you know! Looking forward to returning next year though.
