I see the tin pot “Eng-Gur-Lund” mob are kicking off in London today. What a shambles. Vote for a clown, you get a circus.

Hitch a ride on the ultra right wing wave to take up your dream job, don’t be surprised if that same wave engulfs you.

A few of the more reliable political commentators are beginning to espouse this view. The feeling seems to be growing that once he has achieved his function - i.e. getting a no deal brexit through parliament and into force - then he will have served his term as the useful idiot capable of riding through any potential obstacles.
The harm done to this country will be immense but that doesn't seem to bother the post truth generation of politicians.

It gets worse/stranger...
The Chief Policy advisor to No10 (aka Director of the Number 10 Policy Unit) is one Munira Mizra an ex member of the Revolutionary Communist Party (a trotskyist outfit that disbanded in 1997) she wrote for their magazine - Living Marxism and its successor website - Spiked. Many of her colleagues became highly influential in the eurosceptic circles of the Tory Party.
She worked for the Royal Society of Arts, the The Tate, then became development director for Policy Exchange (a Tory think tank), in 2008 she started working for BoJo firstly as Cultural Advisor, then as Director of Arts, Culture & Creative Industries, then as Deputy Mayor for Education & Culture and then when BoJo became PM she was appointed to her current role.
She has been a cheerleader for Brexit, has publicly stated that racism is exaggerated by people in politics, has argued against there being institutionalised racism in the judicial and penal system, is opposed to multicuturalism & defended BoJos letterbox comments. The ex RCP members of her network have wormed their way into the Conservative Party and have given a veneer of intellectualism to climate denial, aided AIDS denialism in Africa, been funded by and acted as PR agents for agrochem businesses (Monsanto in particular), developed an ideology to justify cuts to arts funding, regularly apologised and excused the worst excesses of Serb nationalism, supported and excused the behaviour of the EDL and so the list goes on.
The really worrying thing is she and her pals have the ears of not only the PM, but Gove and the rest of the staunchly hard-Brexit leading lights in the Tory party. Alongside Cummings, it is no wonder we are rapidly drifting up shit creek without a paddle to our name.

Er, not one to blow my own trumpet, RM, but I did point this out back in February, and it's been common knowledge for a good deal longer than that. [It's 'Mirza' btw.]
My bookcase isn't a mere prop, you know.

Perhaps use a decent search engine?

Oh Cap'n. Couldn't you work this one out for yourself? It's obviously an attempt to prevent people from recognising the great man and hence defacing his statue. This government is nothing if not prepared, you know.

60,000 sadly have died, the economy on its knees, we're told to stay home to protect ourselves, yet we're all out fighting each other about statues. What an absolute sh1t show!

Perhaps this thread could be moved to politics part of the forum?
Then I won't have to see it anymore.

Very strange about Churchill's image, here is the link to Google's somewhat dubious explanation.

This is what leadership is.
President Macron: "I will be very clear tonight, compatriots: the Republic won't erase any name from its history. It will forget none of its artworks, it won't take down statues," in televised address to nation.
