To a point I agree with you, where we slightly differ if your in a club it changes things because you sign up to the rules of that club.
having done so, to then leave and join the opposite club will in some minds give concerns of trust.
Like I say for me it's neither here nor there, but in conversation with a few laboureites the conversation did come up and although I had completely forgotten Ken was in the forefront of promoting a right wing conservative who was that day promoted as the person who was laying out the foundations on benefit cuts.
No problem with that you might say, and indeed theres not, but then to say, hey geezers iv had a change of heart again I'm now a lefty labour gezzer.
If I were in the party I would be concerned, but thankfully im not but looks like others within the party are harbouring concerns.
That's why I found it easier 7 years ago when leaving labour to just drop out altogether, its all so much easier.

Keith, you and I both know that if you had let the hierarchy of the local Labour Party know what you knew then I would not have resigned in the manner I did, but of course that didn't suit you did it?
Keith if you were a character from a novel you would have been a resident of Wild Wood in Wind in the Willows.

I don't know much about toad but back to ken lol
I'm unsure as to what it is i'm supposed to have known, what I do know is I spent 25 years in the party and in that time looked after my electorate.
At times I did question many leading lights of the party, but that's the ideals of such a party.
As you know Ken I had no problem being critical of the local labour leaders, and party membership from the local party right up to the national party.
Taking them on many times.
Where we differ Ken is that I decided to leave 7 years ago, but as a true socialist there is no way I could go public and say I thought Mr Watkins is a fantastic guy.
or lead Mr IDS a right wing tory into Dover and promote him.
We also differ when you send me texts throughout the day threatening to go to the national press over comments I was supposed to have made of course I took no notice of the texts and it was all hot air as I suspected.
That's a big difference in beliefs.
For me once I went that was it.
Had Labour taken my advice last Oct I would not have to have taken my local peoples view that I should stand.
Hopefully they will have learnt lessons come the next 2 by elections.
Hopefully the above explains.

Nah. You are getting it confused with mad as a box of toads I think, 'clear' is definitely frogs.

Keith produce the texts as I have no recollection of them and why are you trying to defend your record because no on is disputing it? As for not knowing what I am referring to is in keeping with your mendacious nature. You can keep trawling through your mendacious memory as often as you wish it want stop me in what I seek.

I have no need or wish to defend myself, just explaining things as they were in those days, you are well aware of texts you sent and once I received them I deleted them(after I had laughed at them)
I have no control over what you seek, it won't be me that you should be looking to,
but there are obstacles to overcome.

On a wider issue why is it that Labour held this seat for 13 years until 2010 and since then it has become a Tory safe seat?
The local party have a lot to answer for.
