Ukip's Godfrey Bloom sparks row after 'joke' branding women 'sluts'
"Bloom later tweeted: "Made a purposely outrageous joke among friends which was taken as joke by women present.

There is an audio recording of the remark and the few seconds either side of it (at the top of the press piece), all hardly worth the bother...

ukip have certainly got the establishment rattled judging by the barbs coming from journalists and rival politicians.
no attempt to discuss policies with them by the major parties who are clearly running scared.

Could it possibly be that he did not in fact 'brand' anybody at all?
This Bloom fellow is that dodgy uncle that's just about worth the bother of him coming round for lunch because of his 'balloon bending' skills, or his funny stories.

absolutely tom - a storm in an egg cup, as far as i can ascertain there was banter between bloom and two wimmin persons at a fringe meeting.
i don't clean behind the fridge myself so i have to own up to being a slut, been called worse though.

An outspoken Euro-MP has lost the UK Independence Party whip after he jokingly described
women as "sluts" and hit a television reporter around the head with a copy of the party's
conference agenda.
Godfrey Bloom's bizarre behaviour - which came after the party's leader Nigel Farage admitted
controversial comments by senior figures presented "occasional difficulties" - overshadowed
the first day of Ukip's annual gathering.
Tonight Mr Farage condemned the latest comments by Mr Bloom, who has created a succession
of embarrassing headlines for the party in recent months.
He added: "My opinion is Godfrey has gone beyond the pale. He's a friend of mine and I'm sorry
to say it but he has gone beyond the pale and I think we have no option but to remove the whip from him."

It is simply 'baiting'. Crick was on a roll, he had Farage on the ropes the other night over his uber-recht-wing youthful exuberance and Bloom is easy meat.

The BBC have launched an attack on UKIP about a picture with 200 white faces.
Should the BBC be telling a party to eliminate pics of people and replace them with other pics?
If you look at Parliament (mostly Labour, Tories, LibDem, plus some other MPs), ALMOST ALL have a white face.
If the BBC is insinuating racism, then they should have the decency, following their own argument, to make a case to the other political parties.

The BBC took up the white faces theme from a journalist working for another broadcasting station, who had made the observation to Mr. Bloom before he looked down on him and called him a "sad little man", and later clouted him with the "offensive brochure".
The white faces topic struck a cord, Mr. Bloom's reaction is comprehensible.
This sort of rhetoric will come back to haunt the mass media!
"UKIP told to change face owing to white skin".
