They do a better form of agitation in Deal,Keith. In some cases to an art form.

The result from May 2015 shows clearly that Peter Walker had a large personal vote so it seems safe to assume that another seat will go to the Tories next May.
Number of Votes*
OVENDEN, Marjorie Joyce Conservative Party Candidate 1499 Elected
WALKER, Peter Labour Party 1242 Elected
WOODGATE, Charles Labour Party 764
WOODS, Tobias Francis Alexander Brownrigg Conservative Party Candidate 1071

Is it just me or does anyone else think Keef is sounding more and more like Yoda with his sentence construction?
Strange it is but fear it not. Gnomic utterances that is.

I think he will pack up
But let's see
Of course with all these boundary changes for DDC and DTC
Will be interesting to see how Labour do
They were looking to take control of DDC
But all seems so unlikely now

Labour controlled the council when I first moved here but lost control a year later and ever since they have seemed intent on remaining in opposition. Their choice of candidates in seats has been quite bizarre sometimes.

Yes I recall a chat with one of there leading lights at the swing gate pub when the tories had a big majority
I said about working towards taking control he scoffed you have no chance
We managed the first time by joining with 6 lib dems (1 being our Sue) prior to this the lib dem was going to keep the tories in office
Only by chats to his national office was there a change of heart
Then the lib dems didn't want to chair any committees
It was a complete nightmare
Thankfully the next election Labour took full control holding on for some years
But one of the local papers ran a campaign to get Labour out(some Labour cllrs and party members refused to recognise it), I did ask the editor if, after the election he was going to continue his crusade on whoever ran the council he said yes but of course he didn't

Just looked in on the DDC website and Mike Eddy is still listed as "not in any political group", normally Electoral services are very sharp with any change of allegiance.

I'm pleased that even though the Green party locally have had a major advance by this resignation and joining greens.
But a few are very wary of his reasons, and his background and keeping a very close eye on him.

Todays announcement by M Eddy/and the ex headteacher
must disappoint the green party he has just joined.
Wanting an alliance with anyone, including labour and tory the latter not known for being into green issues.
your either a green or non political
But it comes as no surprize as a control freak I suspected such moves

Just looked at the DDC website and Mr Eddy is leader of the Progressive group and Mr Walker is deputy leader.
Tooting Popular Front springs to mind.

Quote Eddy :
"If we pick up a couple of Tories we could hold the balance of power on the council for the last few months."
