Correct. Grammar Schools will not be imposed on any town, but nor will the State stand in the way of one being opened. What's so difficult about that?

Getting companies to list how many overseas employees they have seems to have hit the right chord with the public but I think it sets a dangerous precedent.

Why?
This is half the problem with France where due to the concept of Laïcité no-one is allowed to ask census questions about religion or how people define themselves racially. The Kermits now feign surprise that they have cultures within their midst leading completely parallel lives, members of whom seem intent on blowing themselves up and driving lorries down the boulevard in Marseilles. Quelle horreur! We thought they were all French like us!
Getting back to the UK how many other countries on the planet do you think would be so stupid as not to be interested if whole industries were entirely staffed by foreign nationals.
Correctly HMG is suggesting, for example, that we should have more home-grown GPs. They can only suggest this if they know how many we have. Why shouldn't the same go for any other industry?

I doubt that many were gullible enough to be taken in .by all that Conference tosh about training up British doctors. It takes 7 years to train up a junior hospital doctor and 10 years for a GP which when taking into account the thousands of doctors needed there won't be any money in the pot for it to happen.

Howard, we should never have got into this state. The problem has been that if anyone talked of the proliferation of medics we've taken from countries where they could actually be saving lives rather than signing sick-notes for those who don't fancy going in to work he/she would be branded a waaaaaycist, because as we all know our NHS could not survive without them (cue clapping and nodding from BBC audience each week on Question Time).

The half baked idea from Amber Rudd has been ditched now but I suspect she will have another go at hitting the headlines soon. She accused a company in her constituency of only employing foreign staff when in reality the majority were British.

Because the wicked Tories 'only' put in an extra £10 billion to the NHS!
Perhaps we could start by funding Tooting Hospital out of the Foreign Aid budget?

Looks like the old Nigerian Airways 22.00 arrival flight Lagos - Heathrow Tn3 - Hillingdon Hospital I used to deal with in the 70s has been replaced by one to Tooting but with the same passengers?

My daughter, some ten years ago, had the misfortune to be rushed into the fetid polyglottal Hell-hole we call St Georges Hospital Tooting for an emergency appendectomy.
I have never been in any other hospital in England where it has been harder to find out what was actually going on. It was like a cross between MASH and a bazaar in downtown Port Harcourt.
Whilst 'English' is the national language of Nigeria (quite sensible considering there are over 500 'languages' spoken in the country) only about 15% are proficient in English the rest speaking pidgin English at various levels of incomprehensibility though all rather excitably and loudly.

Different issue entirely Craptain as Mrs May has said many times that there will not be a General Election before 2020 so opinion polls matter ye not.
By that time the Tories will have imploded over the terms of leaving the EU and Jezza would have been taken round the back and painlessly destroyed. The successor will be someone electable - the names Wallace and Heron have a certain ring - just guessing.

I'm no fan of the modern Conservative Party but I'd be interested to hear exactly what the PM doesn't care about
