the current government promised a referendum by 2015,it now looks like that will not be happening, well not until 2017 at least.all the main partys have stated so,only labour has come clean and said that there will not be one unless circumstances change.
so what are we joe public going to do about it.my suggestions are as follows.
1/write to the local mp demanding one by October.
2/start an e-petion demanding the same as above.

A referendum on what?
You are also wrong and totally misrepresenting the situation.

Prior to the 2010 election Cameron gave a cast-iron commitment to an in-out referendum on the EU during this parliament. It is his failure to honour this commitment which has contributed most to the rise of UKIP since the last election.

Cameron promised by 2015,and before you he didn't its in black and white.unless its been deleated by accident of course.

Having seen that commitment totally dishonoured, many now take his promise for a referendum by 2017 with a pinch of salt, and have become UKIP supporters or 'don't knows'.

Very cynical of Cameron now to boast that the Tories are the only party to promise a referendum. Here's a man who has burnt the trust of his voters on a bonfire of opportunism. 'Gentlemen, those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.' - Groucho Marx, but might as well have been DC.
Before the last election I believed Cameron's promise of a referendum. Now I don't. To quote Nietzsche: "I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you."

Even if we were to get a referendum I would not trust the wording , we will not be given a simple in or out wording.
The present politicians all seem to be working towards a United States Of Europe not the simple free trade Europe we all thought we were getting when we joined.

I think Brian's accounts been hacked?
he's been saying he didn't want a referendum on eu membership ?
good to see you've come around.
only one way to get out of the EU and that's to lend your vote to ukip
getting out will transform this country into a little power house, free from all the bull s....

That was not his pledge Peter. That was to do with the Treaty ratification but, sadly, Labour in collusion with the LibDems made sure the Treaty was ratified before the election. Once it was ratified the referendum was irrelivent.
I suggest certain people here do there research and get your facts right.

i would have thought there was even more reason for a referendum after a treaty was ratified.

Cameron wanted the treaty , he's 100% Europhile .as are most of the conservative parliamentary party.
If they where committed to a referendum they could do in now or cal an election if labour and libs blocked it .
No powers will come back from the eu ,,will they Barry?
Vote conservative get labour and the EU
