Think you’ll find Canterbury has moving towards 130,000 population. Includes Whitstable & Herne Bay, plus large rural parishes. Certainly bigger population than DDC area even if my figures are out .

Still brings us to each ward
Just taking priory we have 9 cllrs
2 County
3 District
4 Town
We could easily half that number and not even notice

Be careful what you wish for Keith.Personally I don’t think Councillors can truly work if they are on KCC and DDC and be on the cabinet.I don’t think you can have your eye on the ball day to day .Certainly on KCC you can be a small fish in a large pond .Just there to vote for the ruling group, which currently has an over whelming majority.

Just as an aside the KCC chap for Dover West does a newsletter that's put on the various parish councils websites to keep people informed, surely our two could do the same on the DTC website?

Now we get to the nub of the matter, nothing to do with black people in woodpiles but about shamelessly clambering around to grab remaining council seats.

It looks like these 2 cllrs had fallen or failed to convince the party it is in there interest to be selected
Whilst I understand Mr walkers comments on his party not happy with him nominating a Conservative
At a recent Dover Town Council meeting the mayor proposed an independent and not a labour nomination so what's the difference?
I will again bang on about Labour is fast losing its way
It's sad for us all to watch them destroy themselves

There you go again Keith. Why shouldntnCllr Walker have voted for Paul. You are as bad as the rest.Paul was a loyal and hard working Councillor and a very good Leader.I lost my job on Cabinet but I did not hold a grudge .I earnt respect from both sides of the chamber.A little bit of less sour grapes .How ironic when we have poppies everywhere .The first world War was supposed to be the war to end all Wars.

Rather telling that Peter Walker points out that 95% of work on the council is non political and that he also nominated Jimmy Hood. It does come across as his colleagues don't want him in their gang anymore and he will have to play with the boys at the far end of the playground.

I thought the decision re Alderman was very good two long serving Councillors one from each party. It should be non political 95%of the time.Iwas very fortunate I never had to use my casting vote.I. Tried to get them to talk it through. No good playing silly !!,!
