Sterling playing well but he should have passed that last ball and not try to go it along but England one up and playing well look like winners doing much better then I was thinking some two weeks ago.

Superb stuff in the stifling heat and a thoroughly deserved win for England, four days to rest before the semi final - same for the players too.

Classic summing up from ex player, now a pundit Ian Wright.
Come on boys, do it for us! Keep the negative people sat at their keyboards quiet for one more game! We believe in you. #ComeOnEngland

We're carrying Alli (although he scored) and Sterling, but we've made it to a World Cup semi final
Was in the Bull and when "it's coming home" starts spontaneously at the end of the game - a fantastic moment

Yet another enthralling encounter this evening with extra time and maybe penalties to come. Celebrations across our nation are continuing, I shudder to think what would happen if we won the thing.

It gets even more melodramatic with a penalty shoot between the hosts and Croatia. Both sides looked worn out by the later stages of the second half but somehow sprang to life in extra time.

I must admit to being rather underwhelmed by the England v Sweden game; not by the achievement, which is excellent, but by the nature of the match, which I thought lacked the energy of most in the tournament so far. The timing was apt, as it was a bit like a Saturday afternoon English mid-table encounter. In fact I was so flat afterwards I went and finished off a paint job and came back to be revived by Croatia and Russia. Still, the SF promises to be a cracker.

No. England had a chance in 1966, and took it.

Was at skittles last night and I was the only one in my team not yet born when we last won the World Cup

As I was in Lower Saxony in July '66 I guess I should make a provisional booking for either Flanders or Normandy for Sunday.
As for today, I think Belgium might just edge it, simply because France, despite their assured performances, don't look quite the finished article; besides, they're carrying Giroud. But, in case England win tomorrow, I'm hoping for Les Bleus, as they'll surely be out late on the Saturday celebrating Bastille Day.

Expensive 90 minutes for England fans tomorrow with flights costing £750 and match tickets around £600.
