It does - they should beam Dover Athletic matches onto our one.

Just Imagine trying to get from Cannon Street to King street through a crowd .In the next few weeks more evidence will come to light to convey a Sreen in Market Square is in the wrong place .
Mark my words and the true cost has not been published .

What and lose all that gate money Andrew?
Could always send a man round with a hat I suppose.

I work near Market Square now some of the time and have a few tickly concerns about the screen. But will bury them if it turns out that it is for the overall benefit of Dover. Sometimes anything is better than stagnation, and given the whispers about even more shops closures perhaps we need to be even more alive to potential. Time will, as always, tell.

Good point again, Bern. Here's a few more pictures from last night of the people of a town which has turned its back on stagnation:

Wow! Great pictures on the site Andrew, let us hope that the Dover populace will eventually welcome the screen with open arms

I look forward to the opening. Looks great. I just hope the feral element of our population will be cracked down on vigorously when they step out of line, so the majority can enjoy themselves in peace.

Yes Sue, just imagine! All those people in town, how awful.
Only the other day I was walking through Kearsney Abbey and thought how much nicer it would be without people in it.
It's my big problem with community...all those people.

I repeat How awfull .Im glad I dont live in town .Like so many of our councillors .Only a few live in the centre .DT1 I like to see people in the Abbey .,and its all free .
Still I shall sit in the comfort of my own home watching the FA Cup final .Not a crowd in sight .I can at ;least sit down .

You really are a bit of an old fuddy duddy killjoy
If this was aimed at you they would have installed row after row of comfy armchairs, footstools and offered free carpet slippers.
It is aimed at a different crowd, we know you do not want it and do not like it, you have made your point, so enough already.

it would be terrible if people entered market square.
they would make the place look untidy.
cannot have that, can we?

There is a difference between a vibrant shopping centre and hoards of people looking at a screen .
For those of you who dare to mock if some of the old values were around more we would not have anti social behaviour ,litter on the streets and doors would be held open eating in the streets ug ug
Instead of rush rush .lazy speech .perhaps the days of doilleis were better .

I was brought up to respect people regardless of class .

Indeed Howard, lets make them all stay at home and what things on their own TVs. that we we won't get any trouble, but hey we won't get any form of community eother because we will never mix and socialise either.
Sue you can try sitting outside my house, you will either get run over by the traffic on London Road or the local junkies will cart you off for being on their turf.

Sue, as I have asked you in another thread, what do you think Dover should have to attract the masses?
